2027 Chevy Bolt range, power and charging
The Bolt runs on a single front motor making 210 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque. Like any EV, the torque shows up the moment you press the pedal, so pulling out into traffic or merging onto US 52 feels quick and quiet. One Pedal Driving lets you slow down and stop with just the accelerator in most conditions, and it sends energy back into the battery while you do it.
The 65 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is rated for an EPA-estimated 262 miles. Chevy recommends charging this battery to 100 percent on a regular basis, not stopping at 80 percent like many EVs, for an accurate range reading and the fastest fast-charge speeds. On a road trip, the Bolt takes DC fast charging up to 150 kW, about 25 minutes from 10 to 80 percent, and plugs right into NACS stations, including select Tesla Superchargers.
| Motor and battery | Horsepower | Torque | EPA-est. range | Available on |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single front motor, 65 kWh LFP battery | 210 hp | 169 lb-ft | 262 miles | LT, RS |
Charging the Bolt at home and on the road
| Where you plug in | Power | Range added | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard 120V outlet | 1.4 kW | About 4 miles per hour | The included Dual Level Charge Cord |
| 240V outlet | 7.7 kW | About 27 miles per hour | The included cord on a compatible 240V outlet |
| Home charging station | 11.5 kW | About 40 miles per hour | A professionally installed, dedicated 60 amp station, sold separately |
| Public DC fast charger | Up to 150 kW | 10 to 80% in about 25 minutes | The built-in NACS port, including select Tesla Superchargers |
Horsepower, torque and range figures are Chevrolet's published 2027 ratings and depend on configuration and equipment. The Bolt is not rated for towing. Range is the EPA estimate on a full charge; your range will vary with temperature, terrain, battery age, load and how you drive and maintain the vehicle. Charge times and miles added are GM estimates and vary with starting charge, battery condition and temperature, charger output and vehicle settings. Inside the 2027 Bolt: screens, comfort and safety
Climb in and the screens are the first thing you notice: an 11.3-inch touchscreen in the middle of the dash and an 11-inch driver information display behind the wheel. Google built-in handles maps, music and calls, and you can say "Hey Google" for help while you drive. The center console is new too, with cup holders big enough for an insulated tumbler.
The Bolt seats five, with 16.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 56.3 with it folded, plus an underfloor bin of up to 4 cubic feet for things you want out of sight. Every Bolt comes with more than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is available for compatible roads.
- Screens: 11.3-inch touchscreen and 11-inch driver display on both trims.
- Google built-in: navigation, voice help and apps built into the car.
- Driver assists: adaptive cruise control, Blind Zone Steering Assist and Rear Park Assist are standard.
- Hands free: Super Cruise is available on compatible roads and needs an active plan or trial.

2027 Chevy Bolt FAQs
What is the range of the 2027 Chevy Bolt?
The 2027 Chevy Bolt has an EPA-estimated range of 262 miles on a full charge, and the number is the same on the LT and the RS. For most drivers that covers several days of commuting between charges. Real range moves with temperature, speed, terrain and load, so expect less on a cold highway day and more in mild weather around town. Chevrolet recommends charging this battery to 100 percent regularly, which keeps the range display accurate.
How long does it take to charge a 2027 Chevy Bolt?
At a public DC fast charger, the 2027 Bolt goes from 10 to 80 percent in about 25 minutes by GM estimates, with a peak rate of 150 kW. At home it depends on what you plug into. A standard 120 volt outlet adds about 4 miles of range per hour, the included cord on a 240 volt outlet adds about 27, and a dedicated 11.5 kW home station adds about 40. Actual times vary with battery temperature and starting charge.
Can the 2027 Chevy Bolt use Tesla Superchargers?
Yes, the 2027 Bolt can charge at select Tesla Superchargers. It is the first Chevy EV with a native NACS charging port, the same plug style Tesla uses, so it connects directly at compatible stations. Not every Supercharger location is open to other brands, so check the myChevrolet app before you count on a stop. The app can also help you find other DC fast chargers along your route, which is handy on longer trips.
How much does the 2027 Chevy Bolt cost?
The 2027 Chevy Bolt LT starts at $28,995 MSRP and the Bolt RS starts at $32,995 MSRP. Both prices include the destination freight charge but not tax, title, license, dealer fees or options. The dealer sets the final price, and the exact number depends on the trim, color and packages you choose. Our sales team can put together a written quote on a Bolt in stock, and current offers are listed on our specials page.
Can I charge a Chevy Bolt at home?
Yes. Every 2027 Bolt comes with a Dual Level Charge Cord that works with a regular 120 volt outlet or a compatible 240 volt outlet. On 240 volts it adds about 27 miles of range per hour, enough to cover a typical day of driving overnight. For the fastest home charging, about 40 miles per hour, you need a dedicated 60 amp charging station installed by a professional electrician, sold separately from the car.
How does the Chevy Bolt do in a Minnesota winter?
The Bolt works year round in Minnesota, but like every EV it loses some range in the cold, and how much depends on the temperature, your speed and how warm you keep the cabin. It uses a heat pump to warm the cabin and battery more efficiently. The best habit is to heat the car while it is still plugged in, so the energy comes from the outlet instead of the battery. Keep the tires inflated and clear snow off the car and its sensors.
