2021 Chevrolet Silverado

Depending on trim level, the 2021 Silverado comes with three cab and bed options, starting with the three-passenger Regular. In contrast, the Double and the Crew each seat up to six. The three bed options are a 5-foot-10-inch, a 6-foot-7-inch, and an 8-foot-2-inch. Once you've settled on your preferred cab and bed, then you can narrow down your trim choice to any of these eight: the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, LT Trail Boss, RST, LTZ, and High Country.

The 2021 Silverado comes with five available engines. The standard engine is a 4.3-liter V-6 that produces 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. Other available options include a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that supplies 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque, a 5.3-liter V-8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and a 6.2-liter V-8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 horsepower. There's also a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder diesel powertrain that generates 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

All Silverados come standard with all-wheel drive, but you can opt for four-wheel drive. Also, these engines are paired with a six-, eight-, or 10-speed automatic transmission.

Regardless of engine option and trim, this large Silverado offers better gas mileage than most in its class. Its turbocharged engine gets an estimated 20 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The 5.3-liter V-8 engine returns 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Opting for the turbodiesel engine gives you the most fuel-efficient powertrain in the lineup, with 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

Most of the Silverado trims can haul up to 2,000 pounds and tow at least 9,000 pounds. However, its maximum hauling capacity is 2,280 pounds, while its towing capacity peaks at 13,300 pounds. In addition, an enhanced multi-camera trailering system makes hooking up trailers and towing easier.

The Silverado's interior is as varied as its trims, adding more premium amenities as you move through the lineup. Every variant of this truck is equipped with an intuitive and seamless Infotainment 3 System featuring an easy-to-use 7-inch touch-screen display. This system comes standard with two USB ports, two speakers, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Available upgrades include an 8-inch touch-screen display, additional speakers, satellite and HD radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and extra USB ports.

Cadillac has appointed the 2021 Silverado with more than a dozen combined standard and available safety features, starting with a rearview camera. The standard Teen Driver system lets you set audio and secondary limits for secondary drivers. Upgrades for this truck include blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view parking camera system, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
